Write for Gavari

Share what you know about health plan coverage

Gavari publishes guest articles from people who work with coverage rules every day. If you have seen how a coverage rule affects patients, practices, or employers, I want to hear from you.

Who I’m looking for

  • Physicians and clinical leaders
  • Practice, revenue cycle, and health system leaders
  • Employers, benefits leaders, and small business owners who buy coverage
  • Researchers and health policy experts
  • People who work for health plans, with that role disclosed

Ways to take part

  • Write a guest article. 800 to 1,500 words on one topic.
  • Suggest a topic. Send an idea and I may research and write it.
  • Be interviewed. Share your experience in a short conversation that becomes part of an issue.

Topics I want to cover

  • How health plans write and publish coverage rules
  • Prior authorization and medical necessity
  • How coverage works in employer plans, ICHRAs, Marketplace plans, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid
  • What clear, fair minimum coverage standards could look like
  • What health plans get right, and the concerns they are trying to manage

Guidelines

  • Education, not advice. Do not tell readers which plan or insurer to choose.
  • Plain language. Define every insurance term the first time you use it.
  • A source for every fact and number, with a link.
  • No patient names or details that could identify a person.
  • Tell me about any relationship that matters to your topic, such as an employer, consulting work, or investments. I disclose it with your article.
  • No paid placements. Gavari does not charge or pay for guest articles, and does not publish promotional content.

How editing works

I edit every piece for length and clarity, and I may add a short note with context. You see and approve the final version before it runs. Your article runs with your name, title, a two-line bio, and one link.

Send a pitch

Email [email protected] with the subject line “Guest pitch” and include:

  • Your name, role, and organization
  • Your topic and main point, in two or three sentences
  • Why you are the right person to write it
  • Any relationships to disclose
  • A link to something you have written (optional)
Email a pitch

I read every pitch, and I reply when a topic is a fit. Please do not send patient information or personal medical details.
